Mothers on the Mount (MoMs).
‘MoMs’ is a Christian organization comprising of past VP Ladies of the Bible Study Union (BSU)—Sierra Leone Fellowship of Evangelical Students at Fourah Bay College, Mount Auroel Freetown, Sierra Leone, who mentor the current ladies of the BSU.
It was formed in April of 2021 when the heart of one of the past VP Ladies was stirred to get the past VP Ladies to mentor the current BSU Ladies.
Mentorship is a form of discipleship, which our Lord Jesus commanded us to do. Teach, train, walk together, pray – these are some of the words that come to mind when we think about discipleship.
The past years have been awesome, and we expect more of His greatness as we pray that we will put into action the generosity that comes from our faith as we understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. ~Philemon 1:6 NLT

Our principles
Mission
Our mission is to empower young ladies by providing mentorship that fosters confidence, resilience, and leadership skills. We aim to create a supportive community where they can explore their passions, develop their potential, and navigate challenges. Through guidance, inspiration, and shared experiences, we strive to equip the next generation of women with the tools they need to succeed and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. Together, we cultivate a future where every young lady believes in her worth and embraces her unique journey.
Vision
“Our vision is to empower young ladies according to Titus 2:4 -5 NLT “These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, 5 to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.”
Passion
We are determined to see these Ladies succeed and become all that God wants them to be.

What some of our Finalists are saying

Dear Sister
To all ladies, I want to say let’s all live sober-minded, Godly lives and pursue what God wants us to be in the future. Above all, let us unite and have love for one another because we are compelled by love.
2024

To some ladies, to stop giving advice that comes with judging the person in the end without knowing certain things. I’ll also like to say I appreciate the ladies in the BSU and for them to keep encouraging and sharing their thoughts.
Dear Sister

Let every lady please recognize the value of this platform. Utilize every opportunity it renders you. To those who struggle with opening up (I myself was one of such people as I wasn’t used to it), ask of help from the HolySpirit to guide you through the process of being vulnerable and learning to trust and confide in the elderly , as truth goes the native parable: “usay granni dey see wey ihn sidom, grandpikin alek ihn tinap nr go able see dey”. It’s vital we learn to honour our MOMS genuinely by heeding to their guidance, advices and the likes.
